BERRY INFORMATION SYSTEMS.

Owner: Lynn Berry

Office Hours: Personal Contact: 4:30 p.m.-midnight; voicemail 24 hours.

Lynn Berry has built his business from listening to what people wanted and learning from people who already knew.

Start-up: Oct. 29

Berry owns and runs a computer service with the help of his fiance, Ronda Harris. His company provides personalized service selling computers, software and other computer accessories, as well as troubleshooting for clients.

Berry got the idea of selling computers on a personal basis while he worked at Alltel Corp. in mobile phone sales.

"My knowledge can give a good service to people," he says.

Berry offers one-on-one service to clients with no salespeople or middlemen.

"At Berry Information Systems, you get the real thing," he says. "I'll sell you the product you need, set it up for you at your home, show you all the things it does and help you with any problems you may have later."

Berry is a licensed reseller of Hewlett Packard products and also uses brokers at Best Buy and Circuit City to deliver a fast turn-around to clients.

"Once a system is ordered through me, it is delivered in three days to my home," he says. "Then I come and set it up in your home."

Berry's clients are mostly individuals, but he also sells to churches and other businesses.

"I concentrate on good customer service and honesty in my business," he says.

Berry's goals for his company include business as well as community relations.

"I want to give something back to my community, make a good name for myself," he says. "For my business, I want to grow large enough to take stock."

Berry works out of his home in the Quapaw Quarter and is available after 4:30,p.m. His business takes calls all day as well as after hours.
