BERNARD FLYNN'S ALL THE WEEKEND VERDICTS: Derry could tie up Laois; DERRY v LAOIS.

Byline: BERNARD FLYNN Bernard Flynn is a retired inter-county Irish Gaelic footballer for County Meath in Ireland. He enjoyed much success play inter-county football in the eighty's & early ninety's on the Meath team's managed by Sean Boylan. For Meath he usually played at Full Forward.

LAOIS have not enjoyed playing the Ulster county and find it difficult to deal with their style of play.

Although Laois will be favourites to win this one, I don't think they will have it all their own way.

Let's say one Sean Marty Lockhart man-marks Ross Munnelly to good effect; Beano Beano Gastroentrology A deflatulent with simethicone added to beans deemed hyperflatulogenic; Beano's enzymes digests raffinose and stachyose, carbohydrates for which humans have no enzymes. See Beans, Flatulence.  McDonald is dropped (he was rushed back too quickly after such a serious injury); then Laois' two best forwards are gone.

Kevin Fitzpatrick, Brennan and Sheerin were very average against Dublin.

The bottom line is, that if Ross Munnelly is nullified nul·li·fy
tr.v. nul·li·fied, nul·li·fy·ing, nul·li·fies
1. To make null; invalidate.

2. To counteract the force or effectiveness of.
, the Laois forwards are in trouble.

Mick O'Dwyer must realise his midfield pairing of Clancy and Garvin, who were both very good in the second half against Dublin, but poor in the first, are up against, what I consider to be, the most under- rated midfield pairing in the country.

This will be a battle royal around the middle - where nobody may have an advantage - Muldoon's inclusion is a welcome boost on this day.

He can be deadly, but, as against Armagh, was woefully woe·ful also wo·ful
adj.
1. Affected by or full of woe; mournful.

2. Causing or involving woe.

3. Deplorably bad or wretched:
off the mark, but a match winner none the less.

The man I am most looking forward to see is Paddy Bradley - his performances this year are All-Star material - Joe Higgins will have to find his old form to play him.

If not, I think Derry may well just shock Micko's Boys.
