 BEN & JERRY'S HOMEMADE, INC. ANNOUNCES 1991 YEAR-END RESULTS
 WATERBURY, Vt., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Chuck Lacy, president of Ben & Jerry's Homemade, Inc. (NASDAQ: BJICA), the Vermont-based superpremium ice cream manufacturer, today announced results for the year ended Dec. 28, 1991.
 The company's net sales for 1991 totalled $96,997,339, an increase of 26 percent over 1990 sales of $77,024,037. Net income for 1991 increased by 43 percent, to $3,739,383 from $2,609,245 in 1990. Earnings per share were $1.35 for 1991, compared to $1.00 in 1990.
 Net sales in the fourth quarter of 1991 totalled $23,747,881, an increase of 32 percent over 1990 fourth quarter sales of $17,932,506. Net income in the last quarter of 1991 increased by 94 percent to $624,965, as compared to $322,447 in the fourth quarter of 1990. Earnings per share in the 1991 fourth quarter were 21 cents compared to 12 cents in the fourth quarter of 1990.
 "We feel great about our 1991 results," stated Lacy, "and about the 400 people at Ben & Jerry's who made it all happen." Lacy added that the company's new distribution center is nearing completion in Rockingham, Vt. "We are recruiting the team to staff it, and our plans to expand production capacity in St. Albans, Vt., are moving ahead as well."
 Lacy noted that Ben & Jerry's is in the proceess of rolling out its new lowfat frozen yogurt in pints into the 12 largest market areas nationwide. "We are encouraged by a positive reception from the supermarket trade. In May we will also begin a test market in New England of our new supermarket novelty -- multi-pack Peace Pops in both ice cream and frozen yogurt."
 Lacy also announced that Ben & Jerry's will hold its annual shareholders meeting on Saturday, June 27, 1992, at Sugarbush Ski Resort in Warren, Vt. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the "One World, One Heart Festival" for shareholders and the public.
