BELYEW APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF COURIER DISPATCH GROUP
ATLANTA, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Philip A. Belyew was today named

president and chief operating officer of the Courier Dispatch Group, Inc., which is headquartered in Atlanta.
Belyew succeeds Paul R. Dean, who was the chairman, president and CEO prior to his untimely death on Oct. 29, 1991.
Belyew is a 13-year veteran at Courier Dispatch. He joined the fledgling company with Dean in 1978 when it had revenues of $2 million and operations based in Minneapolis/St. Paul. This year Courier Dispatch Group achieved revenues of $60 million, has operations in 16 states, employs 1,900 people and serves 20,000 customers nationally. The company's major facilities are in Minnesota, New England, Georgia and Florida. Its Air Courier Services operate throughout the country.
Belyew has played a pivotal role in the growth of the Courier Dispatch Group. Most recently he served as senior vice president with responsibilities for all ground operations. Previously he was vice president of sales as well as general manager of both the Georgia and the Florida operations. Under his guidance, the Florida facility grew from a small break-even acquisition to the hub of a statewide expansion serving the major cities of Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami and Orlando. In the past eight years Courier Dispatch Group acquired eight courier companies. Belyew's marketing acumen shaped the company's strategic business plan for targeting these acquisitions.
Commenting on this appointment, Michael Ingoldsby, chairman, stated, "Phil Belyew brings entrepreneurial energy, true leadership and continuity with the success of the past to the office of president. The board and the company's private investors pledge him their total support as he guides the Courier Dispatch Group to what we expect will be even greater achievement as a private company."
Courier Dispatch Group, Inc., with headquarters in Atlanta, is a full service courier organization providing both scheduled and on-call ground and air courier services for transporting time-sensitive documents of its customers. The company, which had been traded as a public security since 1983, completed a "going private" transaction in October of this year.
