The London rapper will join local singer Duke Special and techno pioneers 2ManyDJs at Belfast's biggest outdoor music event which kicks off on Thursday, August 27. Dizzee is as popular with critics as he is with fans. He won the coveted Mercury Music Prize for debut album Boy In Da Corner in 2003 and has had two No1 singles - Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers. Upcoming release Holiday, a collaboration with producer Calvin Harris, is almost guaranteed to repeat that success. And organisers reckon Northern Ireland music fans will get into a party atmosphere for the concert at Custom House Square over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Promoter Joe Dougan said: "Dizzee Rascal's an incredible guy, he's won tonnes of awards and is massive as well, a pretty rare combination. "We really can't wait to get him over. Belsonic is going to be the gig of the year."
