BELLSOUTH SELECTS RIT'S PATCHVIEW INTERNET DATA EXCHANGE.
BellSouth is using RiT's PatchView for the Enterprise to maximize control, increase physical layer security and reduce the downtime of this complex network. PatchView's remote management capability enables BellSouth to centralize its maintenance activities while decreasing the time required to respond to client requests for MACs (Move, Adds and Changes) and troubleshooting. In addition, BellSouth believes that the system's on-line documentation and management tools will result in higher levels of customer satisfaction and serve as an outstanding marketing tool.
"RiT's PatchView system gives us unprecedented management access and control of the copper and fiber wiring infrastructure for the BellSouth MIX," said Susan Campbell, president of BellSouth Exchange, Inc. "It allows us to maintain an accurate inventory of all of the elements within and attached to the BellSouth MIX network, and eliminates the need for constant physical inventory of assets and cross-connects in our own and co-location partner facilities."
Ruric Inc., dba RBI, a telecommunication technology provider and RiT Technologies distributor, introduced the PatchView for the Enterprise system to BellSouth and facilitated the sale.
Commenting on the order, Liam Galin, president and CEO of RiT Technologies, said, "BellSouth MIX is the industry's most innovative example of how telecommunications companies are capitalizing on intelligent solutions to meet the demands of the Internet economy. We are proud that BellSouth selected PatchView as an important component of this state-of-the-art infrastructure. As the BellSouth MIX network begins to deliver its promised benefits, we believe that BellSouth and other forward-thinking telcos will implement sophisticated NAPs in additional metropolitan areas, expanding the potential for our advanced technologies."
Ruric Brandt, president of RBI, stated, "The RiT PatchView for the Enterprise system has given our company a powerful solution to offer our clients. We have conducted extensive market research and concluded that the RiT PatchView system is technically unmatched."
Galin added, "BellSouth's choice of our PatchView for the Enterprise system for its critical datacom needs follows our previous sales of PairView outside plant management systems for the telecom needs of another major U.S. ILEC. It is extremely gratifying to us that such major telcos make RiT's technologies their solutions of choice."
