BELLEW'S FUTURE A MYSTERY.

Byline: By ORLA BANNON

MOST of the Crossmaglen players are expected to make an instant return to Armagh duty this weekend - but the future of Francie Bellew is still something of a mystery.

Armagh manager Peter McDonnell confirmed yesterday that he has not spoken to the beaten All-Ireland club finalists though they are expected to return to county training tonight.

There is growing speculation that for one reason or another Bellew will not be part of the Armagh squad this year.

When asked if he had asked the rugged defender to return, McDonnell said: "Francie has been a dream servant to Crossmaglen and Armagh".

"I haven't spoken to Francie, I get as much out of him as reporters do, but that's the kind of man he is. He's not interested in mobile phones or anything like that.

"I'm sure this morning he didn't feel much like thinking about football but the next fortnight fort·night

"So they are no friends of Armagh this weekend."
