BEING SUPREME.

Byline: -- Staff and Wire Services

BEING SUPREME: With ``Dreamgirls'' having its dream run of attention as an Oscar front runner, Diana Ross, on whose '60s group the Supremes the movie was loosely based, is re-emerging with a new studio album.

The inspiration for the songs that will be featured on the album is said to be ``love.'' Though it was everything but ``love'' among group members toward the end of the Supremes dynasty, when Ross was pushed to the forefront as the lead singer and star of the group, Ross insists, ``We must remember love in the past, nurture it in the present and dream of it in the future.''

On the upcoming ``I Love You'' -- Ross' first studio album since 1999 -- she works with many of the producers who made some of her greatest hits and is providing fans with a visual experience with a deluxe CD/DVD package that will be released on Jan. 16.

As for a Supremes reunion, Mary Wilson, one of the original members, recently told Extra TV that that would happen only if Ross was willing. Florence Ballard, the other original member, died in 1996 and was replaced by Cindy Birdsong birdsong. Song, call notes, and certain mechanical sounds constitute the language of birds. Song is produced in the syrinx, whose firm walls are derived from the rings of the trachea, and is modified by the larynx and tongue. The membranes of the syrinx are controlled by slender muscles; in the oscines, or song birds, there may be as many as eight pairs of these muscles, whereas other birds have four or fewer. in 1997. No word on Ross' end, but maybe all these loving feelings will warm the soul-singing diva's heart enough to ``Reach Out'' and make some Supremes fans' dreams come true.

LEO WANTS ANSWERS: Leonardo DiCaprio knows global warming is a problem, and he wants answers. That's why the award-winning actor posted a question on the ``Yahoo! Answers'' Web site, prompting visitors to share their solutions. ``We can all be environmentalists,'' DiCaprio, 32, said in a statement. ``Creating communities online that are interested in discussing and embracing smart, simple and serious solutions reminds us we can all take action in our own homes and where we work.'' DiCaprio currently stars in ``The Departed'' and ``Blood Diamond.'' Yahoo! Answers is a Web site that allows visitors to post questions or respond to those posed by other site users.
