) today reported that total revenues for the first quarter of fiscal 2002 ended December 29, 2001 were $521,000, versus $31,000 in the comparable period of fiscal 2001, and were up 62% from $321,000 in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2001. The net loss for the fiscal 2002 first quarter was $2,319,000, or $0.24 per share, compared with a net loss of $1,053,000, or $0.14 per share, in the first quarter of fiscal 2001. The company ended the first quarter of fiscal 2002 with $7.7 million in cash and cash equivalents.

For those women who were available for follow-up and whose condition was reviewed 24 months following treatment, 47.0% had complete cessation of uterine bleeding and an additional 45.1% had a reduction in uterine bleeding to normal levels or less. In addition, at 24 months following treatment, 94.0% of patients were satisfied with the results of their HTA treatment and 92.5% of patients reported alleviation of menstrual discomfort.
