BEHIND THE MIKE : TO DANIELS, TALK ISN'T CHEAP.Talk-radio KLSX-FM (97.1) afternoon host Jim Daniels James Raymond Daniels (b. 1956 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American poet and writer. He is best known as a major figure in working-class poetry in the United States. says he's not an expert on anything but has an opinion about everything. ``That's what makes me exactly like 90 percent of my listeners,'' he said. Daniels, who holds down the fort from 2 to 4 p.m weekdays on the city's first FM all-talk outlet, describes his program as about ``stuff,'' rather than hard-and-fast topics. ``I deal with whatever comes across my desk,'' he said. ``I speak my mind, spill spill - register spilling my guts gut n. 1. a. Daniels (callers address him as J.D.) says he was especially pleased with listener reaction to one of his post-TWA disaster topics last week: ``What question would you ask God?'' ``Everybody in talk radio was looking for Looking for In the context of general equities, this describing a buy interest in which a dealer is asked to offer stock, often involving a capital commitment. Although it's too early to tell where Daniels' show stands in the quarterly radio ratings, his show is developing a strong and loyal audience, said KLSX spokesman Rich Connor. ``We try and keep teens out of the call-in mix because the show is really not geared for kids,'' he said. ``We're looking for adult callers. But I don't want a specific type of person. Everybody is welcome.'' Daniels said KLSX - known as Real Radio - is perhaps the only true alternative station in the market. ``KROQ-FM (106.7) used to be that, but now it's mainstream,'' he said. ``We're not only an alternative to music but to all the other talk stations on the dial.''
