BECHTEL PETROLEUM OPERATIONS' WATSON RECEIVES CONTRACTOR AWARD FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY

 SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Department of Energy has announced the selection of James P. Watson, general manager of the Naval Petroleum Reserves in California (NPRC), for the award of Outstanding Contract Manager. This award is presented annually by the office of the secretary of energy, James D. Watkins.
 In August 1985, Bechtel Petroleum Operations, a subsidiary of Bechtel headquartered in Houston, was selected to be the Management and Operations contractor for the NPRC located in Kern County, Calif. Watson has been the general manager of this program since 1989. The award was presented by James G. Randolph, assistant secretary for the Department of Energy Office of Fossil Energy.
 Bechtel is a leading international engineering and construction company. Houston is the headquarters of its petroleum operations.
