TIM HENMAN Timothy Henry "Tim" Henman OBE (born September 6, 1974 in Oxford) is a former English tennis player.

He was the first player from the United Kingdom since Roger Taylor in the 1970s to reach the semi-finals of the Wimbledon Men's Singles Championship.
last night backed Andy Murray to achieve what he never could - reach the Wimbledon final and win the title.

Cheered on by Kate Winslet and Miss Scotland, the world No.3 blazed through to the semi-finals for the first time with a 7-5 6-3 6-2 win over Juan Carlos Ferrero Juan Carlos Ferrero Donat (born February 12 1980) or JCF is a former World No. 1 tennis player from Spain. He captured the men's singles title at the French Open in 2003, and in September that year he became the 21st player to hold the World No. 1 ranking. .

Afterwards Murray revealed that Sir Cliff Richard had also sent his support as the nation was swept by Murraymania.

No British man has reached the final at Wimbledon since Bunny Austin in 1938.

But Henman, who made it tothe semi-finals four times, insisted that Murray is the man to make history by beating Andy Roddick in their last-four showdown tomorrow.

"It was such a complete performance - perfect in all areas," said the former British No.1. "He played fantastically well. He is very difficult to beat and I really fancy his chances of winning."

Three-time winner John McEnroe added: "He is a totally legitimate contender now. The last half hour of his match against Ferrero was A-plus.

"At the end Andy was playing awesome tennis. My pick is still Roger Federer over Murray in the final.

"But could I see Andy winning it? Absolutely."
