Shareholders approved the appointment of Maximillian C. Bernau, 30, as a new Supervisory Board Member. Maximillian Bernau will replace the retiring Chairman, Dr. Manfred R. Bernau, 70, a member of the Board since November 1995. In a separate meeting on May 14, 1997, the Board elected Dr. Reinhold C. Heibel, 48, as its Chairman. Dr. Heibel joined the Supervisory Board of BE Semiconductor in April 1996. He has also been a member of the Management Board of Berliner Elektro Holding A.G. since January of 1996 and was appointed its Chairman in April 1997. Before joining Berliner Elektro, Dr. Heibel served as Director of the Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Bank Deutsche Bank AG (IPA: /'dɔɪ.tʃə/[1]) (ISIN: DE0005140008, NYSE: DB) (English: German Bank AG, from August 1991 to December 1995.
