Your destination? Mass merchandising stores, off-price retailers and junior boutiques. Other cheap chic venues are Venice Beach, the Rose Bowl Flea Market and Santee Street in Los Angeles' garment district.

A word of caution. Dime-store divas and dudes should exercise a little discretion when shopping. Just because it's cheap doesn't always mean it's chic.

Sometimes, it's just cheap.
