BDM WINS CONTRACT TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND TECHNICAL INTEGRATION SERVICES TO THE DEFENSE INFORMATION SYSTEMS AGENCY

 MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- BDM Federal, Inc. (BDM), has been awarded one of six prime contracts to provide information technology and technical integration services to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), according to BDM President and Chief Executive Officer Philip A. Odeen. The delivery order contract for the program, known as Defense Technical Integration Services (DTIS), spans one base year and six option years, with an overall program ceiling of $935 million for BDM and the five other successful bidders.
 "This contract is a key component of the Department of Defense's (DOD) efforts to streamline operations, overhaul business processes and capitalize on significant investments in information technology," Odeen said. "We are enormously gratified at the opportunity to contribute directly to the creation of a global command, control and information management infrastructure within DOD."
 Under the contract, BDM will provide technology and technical integration services to DISA's Center for Integration and Interoperability, which is charged with developing strategies to integrate DOD's command, control, computer, communications and intelligence requirements and information resources into DOD's information system support environment. Specifically, the BDM team will provide technical assistance in the following areas: integration engineering and software development; training, documentation and information dissemination; integration prototyping and testing; and overall program and project management.
 James S. Cassity, senior vice president and business unit general manager for BDM's Military Space and C4 Systems Business Unit, is the program manager and corporate executive responsible for the DTIS program. Cassity reports directly to Odeen.
 The BDM team includes AT&T, CACI, Grumman Data Systems, Price Waterhouse, SofTech, Birch & Davis Associates, Inc., CEXEC, Inc., GLS Associates, Inc., HCI, J.G. Van Dyke and Associates, Inc., Management Consulting and Research, Inc., Network Solutions, Inc., Pennsylvania State University and Virginia State University.
