) today announced that it has filed a formal application to delist its common shares from the Tokyo Stock Exchange Tokyo Stock Exchange

Main stock market of Japan, located in Tokyo. It opened in 1878 to provide a market for the trading of government bonds newly issued to former samurai.

BCE's application to the Tokyo Stock Exchange states that the limited amount of trading activity in BCE's common shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the small number of shareholders and shares held in Japan reduces the utility of the listing. As a consequence, the costs associated with the listing have exceeded the benefits.

BCE is Canada's largest telecommunications company. Its common shares are listed on stock exchanges in Canada, the United States and Europe.
