 Professional Bargaining Association have signed a four-year agreement, the first contract for this diverse group of unionized health service employees in British Columbia.

The Paramedical Professionals group includes dietitians, occupational therapists, hospital pharmacists, physiotherapists, social workers, diagnostic and medical technologists, and other medical professionals.

Because of the diversity wage increases range from 6.9% to 13.1% compounded, with an average wage increase of 10.3% compounded over four years, plus a signing bonus for all employees.

One of the key aspects of this agreement is that health employers will pay a lump sum Lump sum

A large one-time payment of money.
 toward the unfunded liability in the Health Sciences Association Long Term Disability Plan. A new Employer/Employee cost-shared LTD LTD 1 Laron-type dwarfism 2 Leukotriene D 3 Long-term depression, see there 4. Long-term disability  plan will be implemented effective August 4, 2006.

The Paramedical Professional Collective Agreement covers approximately 14,000 health science professionals. Included in this agreement are: the Health Sciences Association, BC Government and Service Employees' Union, Professional Employees' Association, Canadian Union of Public Employees The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE, French: Syndicat canadien de la fonction publique) is a Canadian trade union serving the public sector - although it has in recent years organized workplaces in the non-profit and para-public sector as well.  and the Hospital Employees' Union.
