BC Partners acquires business info publisher.

Private equity firm BC Partners (London/New York) has entered into an agreement to acquire Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing (BvD EP; Amsterdam), an electronic publisher of business information, from investment firm Candover (London). No terms were given. The deal is expected to close in October.

BvD EP is one of the world's largest specialist providers of electronic business and financial information, including ownership and directorship information, company activities and ongoing news and developments, to 5000 financial and consulting organizations, corporations, governments and research institute clients.

Products include AMADEUS, a pan-European database, ORBIS, covering 33 million companies worldwide, ZEPHYR, a M&A database, and country-specific databases. In June, the company launched QIN, a company information database on both public and private companies in China. It carries information on over 300,000 Chinese companies with three years' financial history, information on company activities and ownership and corporate structure data.
