BBN Planet Launches Internet Services Nationwide; Renamed BBN Internet Subsidiary Focuses on Customers' Business Internet Needs With InterNET Advantage(SM) Connection and Value-Added Services.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 1995--BBN Internet Services Corporation, a subsidiary of Bolt Beranek and Newman Inc. (NYSE:BBN), today announced the nationwide rollout of its value-added Internet services, along with the addition of new services and a new corporate name.

With this announcement, BBN makes its Internet services for business and organizations, including managed access, security, training and consulting, available nationwide for the first time. This means that the company has expanded its service offerings from regional to nationwide availability, and is taking orders and provisioning Internet service through more than 500 local access points around the country.

The company introduced the InterNET Advantage(SM) managed connection service, providing uniformly priced and packaged Internet access and value-added services on a national basis, and added a new 10 Mbps Internet access service. The company unveiled its new corporate name, BBN Planet Corporation, and logo, developed to better describe its mission and support a new marketing campaign for the nationwide launch.
