BBN PLANET CORPORATION NAMES MAX D. HOPPER TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 1995--BBN Planet Corporation, a subsidiary of Bolt Beranek and Newman Inc. (NYSE:BBN), today announced that Max D. Hopper has joined its Board of Directors.

Hopper, currently CEO of Max D. Hopper Associates, Inc., recently retired as chairman of AMR's SABRE Group and senior vice president of AMR Corporation, parent company of American Airlines.

Under his leadership, SABRE expanded from a computer system serving the needs of American's airline operations to the world's largest computer reservations system, serving hundreds of thousands of travel industry professionals worldwide.

Hopper also served as executive vice president for Bank of America from 1982 through 1985. Prior to joining American Airlines in 1972, he worked for Shell Oil Company, Electronic Data Systems and United Airlines. He currently serves on the boards of directors of the Gartner Group, Legent Corporation and Computer Language Research, Inc.
