Aherne was raised in Wythenshawe, Manchester. to write more specials of The Royle Family after 10 million tuned into the comedy on Christmas Day. The hour-long episode was one of the high points of the festive schedule. Screenwriter and actress Aherne, 48, who scripts the sitcom with co-star Craig Cash, has been offered a deal to create at least two more. A BBC source said: "The Royle Family has been a hit this Christmas. "Two years ago a special called The Queen of Sheba Queen of Sheba sultry Biblical queen who visits Solomon. [O.T.: I Kings 10] See : Beauty, Sensual received critical acclaim and bosses at the BBC have been badgering Caroline to do more ever since. "We billed this year's special as a one-off but Caroline has agreed a deal to create more for next year and the year after.
