Big names, such as news anchorman Huw Edwards, will remain unaffected. The cuts will be complete by the start of April 2010. The BBC plans to plough over pounds 70million into areas such as foreign coverage and on-demand news. A spokesman said: "The BBC is working hard to minimise compulsory redundancies.
