I've spent most of the week resisting the temptation to call Victoria Derbyshire's BBC Radio Five Live phone in show. I wanted to ask her just one question.

"Why, Victoria, why?"

Why would she want to blow the gaffe on Celebrity Mastermind?

For the past year, I have had the joy of dropping it into the conversation.

"Oh yes, Celebrity Mastermind, that's me. I beat Nicholas Parsons and that bald chef from 'Something For The Weekend', don't you know."

People seem impressed and I'm sure they're not referring to me when I see them mouthing 'plonker' as they turn away.

But now, Vicky has spoiled my fun by telling the world that contestants are given a crib sheet before the show, raising the possibility that I don't really know everything there is to know about The Suffragette Movement.

Well, for the record, I was sent a reference book direct from the British National Library, no less, and I swotted like a maniac.

It took me right back to my O-Levels, so much so I started hallucinating about Dallas and Who Shot JR?

Just like my O-Levels, I can't remember a thing now but I knew it at the time. So, Victoria stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
