Clippers general manager Elgin Baylor Elgin Gay Baylor (born September 16, 1934 in Washington, D.C.) is a retired American basketball player who played 13 seasons as a forward for the NBA's Minneapolis Lakers/Los Angeles Lakers. Baylor was an 11-time All-Star while playing for the Lakers from 1960-72.

While he's at the track, Baylor also will present the trophy to the winning connections of the $150,000 San Luis Obispo Handicap The San Luis Obispo Handicap is a race for Thoroughbred horses run at Santa Anita Park each year. The race is open to horses age four and up, willing to race one and one-half miles on the turf. A Grade II event, it offers a purse of $150,000. .

"We're flattered to know that he's a big fan of thoroughbred racing," Santa Anita president Ron Charles said.
