BAY STATE GAS ANNOUNCES NEW WORLD WIDE WEB SITE.


WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- June 1, 1995 -- Bay State Gas Company has established what is believed to be the first New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt.  utility "Web Site" on the Internet, the Internet, the, international computer network linking together thousands of individual networks at military and government agencies, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, industrial and financial corporations of all sizes, and commercial enterprises  public access network for computer users around the world. The company's on-line information service can be found at <http://www.bgc.com/bgc/>.

This resource initially provides current and potential investors of Bay State Gas access to information about the company, such as annual and quarterly shareholder reports, 10-K and 10-Q Securities and Exchange Commission reports, news releases and public relations/investor relations contacts. Young, the company plans to use this new medium to augment its public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. Bay State Gas Company is New England's largest independent natural gas distributor, serving about 292,000 customers in Massachusetts and, through its Northern Utilities, Inc. subsidiary, New Hampshire New Hampshire, one of the New England states of the NE United States. It is bordered by Massachusetts (S), Vermont, with the Connecticut R. forming the boundary (W), the Canadian province of Quebec (NW), and Maine and a short strip of the Atlantic Ocean (E).  and Maine. Another subsidiary, Granite State Gas Transmission, Inc., owns and operates interstate gas pipelines in New England. The company also markets retail propane within the region and is an equity investor in MASSPOWER, an electric generation facility.
