It wasn't his fault we lost that game and it has never, ever been Kyle's fault that we've lost. In fact, he has helped keep us in some games.'' From that shaky beginning, Bauer has developed into a solid leader. He has passed for 1,365 yards, completing 72 of 143 passes. He has thrown 15 touchdowns and been intercepted just five times. ``He has progressed quite a bit since the opener, no question,'' said Stiman. ``He throws the ball well, stands in the pocket without fear. He isn't the biggest kid, but he plays with a lot of courage and he is pretty darn accurate.'' Bauer admits courage plays a role in his ability to stand in the pocket until the last possible moment. Both have committed to UCLA and both are usually the focus of the opponents' defense. ``That has always helped,'' Bauer said. ``You can't really explain what having players like that does for your team.
