BATTLE OF THE FANZINES.

Kilmarnock

By MONTY KATT, of Help Me Make It Through the Night

A DAMP, miserable night at Somerset Park Somerset Park is a football stadium located in Ayr, South Ayrshire.

It has been the home of Ayr United since they were founded in 1910 and it currently has a capacity of 12,128.
and Ayr fans are jumping like springer spaniels on Ecstacy.

And they're chanting: "We love you Falkirk, we do."

Their "heroes" have just scraped two late goals in extra time to lift the 1997 Ayrshire Cup against a Killie kil·lie

team reduced to ten men and consisting of kids and reserves.

That's how far we've progressed - sending out kids against Ayr's first team.

Now WE'RE on to Ibrox and far more pressing matters - the Scottish Cup The Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup[1], usually known as the Scottish Cup, is the national cup knockout competition in Scottish football. The trophy awarded to the winners has the distinction of being the oldest national trophy in the world.  Final.

Kilmarnock FC, 90 minutes from European football again.

We're in the final for the first time since Robert Prytz Robert Prytz (born 12 January 1960) is a former Swedish football player. He earned 56 caps with the Swedish national team. Clubs

  • Rangers F.C.

  • Atalanta B.C.
  • IFK Göteborg
  • Hellas Verona F.C.
was a boy. Who would have thought it seven years ago?

Then life revolved around trips to Arbroath and Stenhousemuir, and getting gubbed by Queen of the South and Stranraer. At least we got a laugh at the Stair Park Stair Park is home to Scottish Third Division side, Stranraer F.C.. It is located in London Road in Stranraer. It has a capacity of 5,600 and 1,800 is made of seated covering. The ground was opened in 1907. The pitch size is 110 yards x 70 yards.  tannoy: "Would the owner of car B242 GXY GXY Galaxy (astronomy)  please return to your vehicle, it's on FIRE!"

The heat will be on at Ibrox, too. But I'll stay cool and spare a thought for the "Silky Soccer" played by the Davie Sneddon sides that first got me hooked, the vision of Jim Fleeting, the flamboyance of Bobby Fleeting, the genius of Tommy Burns Tommy Burns might refer to:
  • Tommy Burns (footballer)
  • Tommy Burns (boxer)
  • E. L. M. Burns
. And the board's wisdom in appointing Bobby Williamson.

GO GET 'EM LADS.

Falkirk

By PAUL HUTTON, of Rupert's Roar

NO-ONE in Brockville at about half past four on January 25 watching Falkirk play Berwick Rangers would have thought it would come to this.

Until Willie Young gave Falkirk a penalty for handball handball

Any of a variety games in which a small rubber ball is struck against a wall with the hand or fist. It can be played in a three- or four-walled court or against a single wall by two or four players (in singles or doubles games, respectively).
(apologies to Berwick fans) it looked like our Cup run would be over before it had spluttered into life.

Even anyone who saw us win the replay at Shielfield wouldn't have believed it.

I didn't even feel confident in the semi-final replay until the ref blew for full-time - for the first time in my life, the Bairns had made the Scottish Cup Final. It means a huge amount to Falkirk men like Kevin McAllister and Alex Totten. It means a huge amount to a guy like my dad, who missed the last final because he was doing his national service.

And it means a huge amount to any fan who never thought they'd live to see the day.

This is the payback for our suffering of the past few seasons.

Old Firm fans will think I'm overdoing it but we don't expect success like they do. When it comes along, we grab it with both hands.

Whatever happens, it's a chance for two towns to watch their teams in the biggest game Scotland has to offer.

Heck, I even hope the best team wins. Er.. only if it's wearing navy blue.
