BASKETBALL PROGRAM OPEN APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR SUMMER YMCA YOUTH CLINIC.

The eight-week season will run from mid-July to mid-September and will kick off with a two-week clinic beginning June 11 at the gymnasium at Desert Christian High School Christian High School, also known as CHS, is in O'Fallon, Missouri. The school mascot is the Eagle and the school colors are teal and black. Their women's soccer team has won many state championships. , 2340 W. Ave. J-8.

The clinic will be offered three days a week, with separate sessions for players ages 5-7, 8-10 and 11-12, plus combined sessions for the 13-14 and 15-18 age groups. Dates and times will be announced later.

The league will be divided into 17 divisions: a coed division for ages 5-7; open and recreational divisions for boys ages 8-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18 in its Junior Lakers program; and open and recreational divisions for girls in the same age groups in its Shooting Sparks program.

The open divisions are for more-experienced teams and individuals.

Games will be played primarily at Desert Christian High School. The clinic sessions will be used to teach fundamentals of the game, team building and the YMCA's Six Pillars of character: responsibility, trustworthiness trustworthiness Ethics A principle in which a person both deserves the trust of others and does not violate that trust , citizenship, caring, respect and fairness.

Nonsectarian, nonpolitical Christian lay movement that aims to develop high standards of Christian character among its members.
. The basketball programs offer competition that stresses fun, fair play and sportsmanship.

The registration fee is $70 for new players who need a uniform and $45 for returning players who still have their uniforms. Applications are available at the YMCA's Palmdale site, 39251 10th St. W.
