medal in a sport contested by men's national teams.

The Dream Team had its worst shooting performance of the Olympics and didn't crush an Australian team that never even expected to make it into the semifinals, but the Americans still had a relatively easy time.

It set up Saturday's championship game against Yugoslavia, which will offer a matchup of current and past Lakers centers - the U.S.'s Shaquille O'Neal vs. Yugoslavia's Vlade Divac.

The Americans will enter that game with an all-time Olympic record of 100-2. They have won 10 titles, losing only in 1972 and 1988.

The men could have used a more reassuring effort as they worked toward their golden goal, though.

Scottie Pippen was one player who didn't like what he was seeing in this one, and he finally made his feelings known.

``Hey, we've got to play ball!'' Pippen shouted, loud enough for many in the Georgia Dome crowd of 34,069 to hear. ``Let's go!''

From that point, the Dream Team ran off a 21-7 streak, then shifted into its usual cruise-control mode for the rest of the way.

Barkley had 24 points - tying the most by any American player in a single game - and 11 rebounds.

``I was very proud of our team, because we kept it up for 40 minutes this time,'' Barkley said. ``We had to compete tonight. Australia is the best team we've played in terms of cohesion and heart. I don't stroke people, but those guys pushed us.''
