The Waves (1-1) were led by junior guard Rasheeda Clark and former Moorpark High standout Damaris Hinojosa; scoring 18 points each. Clark, who was 5 of 6 from the free throw line, added four assists. Hinojosa, who was 4 of 8 from 3-point range, posted seven rebounds and five steals.

``Damaris is a complete player, and that was evident in today's game,'' said Pepperdine coach Mark Trakh Mark Trakh is the current University of Southern California women's basketball coach.

Pepperdine shot 47 percent in the first half and led 49-32 at halftime. The Waves proved to be aggressive in the paint outrebounding Fullerton 56-28, collecting 24 offensive boards in the process.

The Waves defense held Fullerton (0-2) to 29 percent in the second half, shooting 7 of 24. Sophomore center Anna Lembke registered a double-double scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds for the Waves. Senior forward Dee Braxton added six rebounds and eight points for Pepperdine.

Fullerton was led by Kandance Hunter's 15 points and Kristina Naumovic's 11 points.
