BASKETBALL: MASTER'S MEN, WOMEN PLAY OPENERS THIS WEEK.

The basketball season begins this week at The Master's College History
The Master's College was founded as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary on May 25, 1927 to meet the need for a fundamental Baptist school on the West Coast.

Tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Bross Gym, the women face Pacific Union; the men travel Friday to Fresno to take on California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  Christian at 7:30 p.m.

As for the women, the Mustangs are coming off one of their toughest schedules since coach Ken Sugarman took over three years ago. They finished 10-20 and, at one point, lost 12 straight.

The Mustangs are solid down low and on the outside. First-team All-Far West Region forward Elizabeth Hansell, a 5-foot-10 senior, returns after grabbing almost nine rebounds and scoring close to 19 points a game last season.

Joclin Julmist, a 6-5 junior forward, is the Mustangs' top returner after earning All-American honorable mention honors a year ago. Julmist's 10.9 rebounds a game last year was a team high.
