BASKETBALL: Airmen step in to help keep Crusaders flying.


COVENTRY and Warwickshire Crusaders have arranged to play RAF Lakenheath RAF Lakenheath (IATA: LKZ, ICAO: EGUL) is a NATO airfield located near Lakenheath in Suffolk, England. It is home to the United States Air Force 48th Fighter Wing. Also known as the Liberty Wing.  in a friendly at Coventry Sports Centre tomorrow (7.30pm).

The Crusaders were without a game as scheduled opponents Hackney White Heat Hackney White Heat is an English basketball team from the district of Hackney in London competing in the English Basketball League, Division 3.  are taking part in the Division 2 Patrons Cup Final.

But coach Derrick Pope was anxious not to interupt their current run of good form and was delighted when the airmen agreed to fill in at short notice.

In their last encounter in November at Lakenheath, Crusaders came out on top 81-72.
