BASIC TRAINING.


Q: I love to work out, and I feel good about myself. But I'm worried about my girlfriend, who says she doesn't need to work out. I don't want to tell her she needs to because it might make her upset. So my question is, how can I keep myself motivated and get her in the gym with me? She worked out with me one time and then stopped coming.

A: When you go to the gym, make it seem like she is going to miss out on a good time. Whatever you do, don't scold SCOLD. A woman who by her habit of scolding becomes a nuisance to the neighborhood, is called a common scold. Vide Common Scold.  her. Tell her that you always have a great time at the gym and try to make it a positive event.

Also, try to find some activities there that she might like. Maybe there is a Pilates class, dance class or kickboxing class that she would enjoy. Tell her it looks like a lot of fun and she might want to come check it out. You could also take up a new activity like spinning or boxing and ask her to join you for the first class. If she knows that you are both trying the new activity for the first time, then she may feel more comfortable checking it out. Even better, try something new where you think she'll excel, such as Pilates or yoga, and she might like it even more, especially if she does a better job than you. Sometimes you have to let your lady win so you can boost her self confidence. Don't give up!
