BASF.BASF BASF Bar Association of San Francisco (since 1872; San Francisco, California) BASF Badische Anilin und Soda Fabrik (German chemical products company) BASF Builders Association of South Florida will significantly expand its compounding capacities for engineering plastics in the Asia-Pacific region in the next two years. The company will build a new compounding plant at its existing Pudong site in Shanghai, China. Construction will begin immediately. The plant will have an annual capacity of about 45,000 metric tons. It is scheduled to come on stream by the end of 2006. In addition, BASF is expanding its compounding facility in Pasir Gudang Pasir Gudang is a industrial town located 35 km east of Johor Bahru in Malaysia (LAT: ). It is the western end of the Johor Bahru metropolitan area. The population is around 70,000. , Malaysia. The expansion from 30,000 metric tons to about 45,000 metric tons annual production capacity will be completed by the second quarter of 2005. Together with the plant in Pudong, the total investment will range in the double-digit million Euro area. Both plants produce Ultramid (polyamide polyamide material used in the creation of nonabsorbable, synthetic, nylon sutures. PA) and Ultadur (polybutylene terephthalate PBT PBT Provider Backbone Transport (networking technology adding determinism to ethernet) PBT Polybutylene Terephthalate PBT Profit Before Tax PBT Paper Based Test (education) ) compounds. |
