BASF named a GM 'Supplier of the Year' for 2005.

BASF has been named a General Motors Supplier of the Year for exceptional performance as a global supplier of automotive OEM coatings.

Jay Baker, vice president of BASF's coatings business in North America, accepted the award on behalf of BASF during recognition ceremonies on April 29 at GM's Vehicle Engineering Center at the General Motors Technical Center.

"As one of the major global suppliers to General Motors, BASF is very pleased to receive the Supplier of the Year award again," said Baker. "We have always been extremely proud of our relationship with GM, and this award is a testament to the strength of that relationship."

"We consider BASF to be a role model for all suppliers. BASF is recognized as a GM Supplier of the Year because the company exceeded our expectations in 2005," said Bo Andersson, GM's vice president of global purchasing and supply chain.
