BASF introduces Charter PB fungicide treatments.

 introduces Charter PB fungicide fungicide (fŭn`jəsīd', fŭng`gə–), any substance used to destroy fungi. Some fungi are extremely damaging to crops (see diseases of plants), and others cause diseases in humans and other animals (see fungal infection).  treatments, its first product designed for on-farm seed treatment.

"Charter PB is a liquid seed treatment used for the control of true loose and covered smut of barley and loose smut smut, name for an order of parasitic fungi (Ustilaginales) and the various diseases of plants caused by them. Smuts produce sootlike masses of spores on the host.  and common bunt in wheat," said Craig Lindholm, BASF Mktg Mgr for seed treatments. "It is an extremely effective fungicide that solves a wide range of seed fungus problems that have plagued wheat growers in the past."
