BASF Agricultural Products division, Research Triangle Park, N.C., enters into an agreement with Triumph Seed, Ralls, Texas, providing technical support, marketing support for CLEARFIELD Clearfield, city (1990 pop. 21,435), Davis co., N Utah; inc. 1922. Hill Air Force Base, to the northeast, is the state's largest employer. Clearfield is the site of Utah's largest industrial park and has diversified manufacturing. sunflowers sunflower, any plant of the genus Helianthus of the family Asteraceae (aster family), annual or perennial herbs native to the New World and common throughout the United States. In cultivation, the flower heads, commonly having yellow rays, sometimes reach 1 ft (30 cm) in diameter. The common sunflower (H. annuus) is an annual, native from Minnesota to Texas and California and perhaps also in Central and South America. and the provision of marketing assets such as CLEARFIELD trademarks. Triumph will launch its first CLEARFIELD sunflower hybrids in the United States in 2004. This agreement with Triumph Seed Company concentrates on the U.S. sunflower market.
