BASEBALL PLAYOFFS.

Quarterfinals All games at 3:15 p.m.

DIVISION I

Camarillo (24-6) vs. Long Beach Wilson (21-9)

At Blair Field Blair Field is a stadium in Long Beach, California. It originally opened in 1956 and is primarily used for baseball. It holds 3,238 people.

Located in Recreation Park, Blair Field is one of the few semi-professional baseball facilities in California.

Outlook: Don't be fooled by Wilson's third-place league finish that left the Bears advancing through the wild card round. The Moore League is one of the toughest around - all three of its representatives remain in the Division I playoffs - and Wilson has senior P/OF P/OF Pinhole Occulter Facility  Joey Pace, who led the Bears to the division title last year. But after upsetting No. 3 Bishop Amat on Tuesday, Camarillo is ready to take on anyone. The Scorpions are making their first appearance in the quarterfinals since 1985 when they made it to the section final.

Keep an eye on: Camarillo C Spencer Wyman, who is key offensively and defensively. He bats behind hot-hitting Delmon Young Delmon Damarcus Young, (born September 14, 1985 in Montgomery, Alabama), the younger brother of Dmitri Young, is an outfielder on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and was, arguably, the top hitting prospect in baseball as of the end of the 2005 minor-league baseball season. , so a big hit has usually just occurred when Wyman comes to the plate, but the cleanup hitter In baseball, the cleanup hitter is the hitter who bats fourth in the lineup. Cleanup hitters often have the most power on the team and are typically the team's best all-around hitter; their job is to "clean up the bases", hence the name.
often finds a way to keep the fans cheering. He has reached base in three of his six plate appearances, including an RBI-single Tuesday.

DIVISION II

Santa Barbara Santa Barbara (săn'tə bär`brə, –bərə), city (1990 pop. 85,571), seat of Santa Barbara co., S Calif., on the Pacific Ocean; inc. 1850.  (23-3) at Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  (23-6)

Outlook: Thousand Oaks has already advanced farther than a year ago when it was a league champion. But the Lancers lanc·er

aren't satisfied. Senior RH Greg Simonetti (8-1) makes his second postseason start and Adam Leavitt continues to lead an offense that hasn't had any trouble scoring lately.

Keep an eye on: DH Ian Corso, who is one of the Lancers biggest power threats and has started to find his groove at the plate. He could give Thousand Oaks production from outside the heart of its lineup.

DIVISION III

Westlake (24-3) at Charter Oak (21-7)

Outlook: Westlake senior Jesse Kozlowski (7-1) starts against the Miramonte League champions, who are coming off a victory against Burroughs of Burbank. The Warriors have scored 22 runs in their two playoff games and had another of their late-game rallies Tuesday with nine runs in the seventh inning. Charter Oak counters with the power hitting of Marco Manrique as well as freshman Chuckie Tiffany, who pitched and hit his Covina team to a Pony League World Series title last summer.

Keep an eye on: Westlake junior Ryan McCarty. There's not much the Warriors' most versatile player can't do. He can start in the infield or outfield, is effective as a relief pitcher and he can hit. Seniors Jon Shepard and Cory Taillon have led Westlake's hitting charts all season, but McCarthy is steadily making his way to the top. He entered the week batting .468 and added two more hits, including a home run, Tuesday at Paso Robles Robles is a common surname in the Spanish language meaning oaks, and may refer to:

DIVISION VI

 (9-6) at Grace Brethren (20-4)

Outlook: Condor League champion Thatcher has outscored the opposition 16-1 in the first two rounds, so Grace Brethren should have a tougher time than its last game - an 11-0, five-inning no-hitter against Victor Valley Christian - but the two-time defending champion Lancers should still be heavily favored. Because Tim Thompson (14-2) only pitched three innings in relief Tuesday, he is eligible to pitch a complete game, but the way Grace Brethren is hitting, it is unlikely he will be needed for seven innings.

Keep an eye on: The McClain brothers. Senior Shawn McClain has been one of the Lancers' top hitters. He homered and had three RBI RBI

Tuesday and is showing he can be just as valuable as a pitcher - he threw the first two innings of Tuesday's no-hitter. Younger brother Steve is only a sophomore, but he usually starts in the infield and has a knack for making sure Shawn isn't the only star in the family.
