    Mark Henry Belanger (June 8 1944 - October 6 1998) was an American shortstop in Major League Baseball who played almost his entire career with the Baltimore Orioles.
    , one of the best fielding shortstops of his generation and a key figure in the baseball players' union, died of lung cancer lung cancer, cancer that originates in the tissues of the lungs. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States in both men and women. Like other cancers, lung cancer occurs after repeated insults to the genetic material of the cell.  Tuesday at 54.
