The Dodgers avoided salary arbitration with two starting pitchers Friday, giving Carlos Perez a three-year, $15.5 million contract while Ismael Valdes

Outfielder Todd Hollandsworth Todd Mathew Hollandsworth (born April 20, 1973 in Dayton, Ohio) is an outfielder in Major League Baseball. Previously, Hollandsworth played with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1995-2000), Colorado Rockies (2000-2002), Texas Rangers (2002), Florida Marlins (2003), Chicago Cubs , who figures to be in a reserve role if he isn't traded, also signed a one-year, $850,000 deal, which is a $150,000 raise over last year.

    Perez, a 28-year-old left-hander picked up from Montreal midway through last season, made $1.5 million in 1998. He gets a $1 million signing bonus, $2 million in 1999, $5 million in 2000 and $7.5 million in 2001.

    Perez, 11-14 with a 3.59 ERA between the two teams, completed seven of his 34 starts.

    Valdes, a 25-year-old right-hander, gets a $1.4 million raise after going 11-10 with a 3.98 ERA last season.

    The Dodgers also announced the signing of infielder Scott Livingstone and left-handed pitcher Ricardo Jordan to minor-league contracts, and said both will attend spring training as non-roster invitees.

    The team also invited three other minor leaguers - right-hander Dan Hubbs, outfielder Bubba Crosby and infielder Damian Rolls - to spring training.
