BASEBALL CAMP COLLECTS SCORES OF TOYS.

LANCASTER - More than 120 toys and other presents for children hospitalized over Christmas were collected through former Major League Baseball "MLB" and "Major Leagues" redirect here. For other uses, see MLB (disambiguation) and Major Leagues (disambiguation).

The entry fee for the 48 youngsters age 9 to 12 who got tutored at Lancaster City Park by former Major Leaguers and local high school players was a toy worth $10 or more.

Sponsored by Valentine's Antelope Valley Light Foundation, the baseball camp included instruction from Dodgers great Tommy Davis and Derrel Thomas; former San Francisco, Houston and Cincinnati pitcher Mike LaCoss; White Sox player Rudy Law; and pitcher Jim Slaton, who grew up in the Antelope Valley.

Besides the toys brought in by the young players, donations were dropped off by Los Angeles County Probation Department The Los Angeles County Probation Department provides services for those placed on probation within Los Angeles County, California, USA. The toys were delivered to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
