BASEBALL: GOLDEN ACTION SET TO RESUME RAINOUTS PLAY HAVOC WITH LEAGUE SCHEDULE.

Byline: Heather Gripp Staff Writer

The break in Golden League baseball play was only supposed to last a week. Rainy weather decided otherwise.

A league race that began with intriguing results two weeks ago is expected to resume today after time off for spring break and rainouts.

Some teams hoped to get make-up games in Thursday, but most teams have games left to make up after a lengthy layoff.

Palmdale is waiting to play its first league game. It will join a race in which Lancaster and Highland have taken the early lead.

Lancaster has a pivotal series against Palmdale next week. The Eagles ought to be well-rested after rain gave them more than a week off.

"With this weather, it's hard to tell what we'll be doing, but we try to get in as much as we can," Lancaster coach Matt Anderson
