GLENDALE A perfect record hasn't been enough to get Crescenta Valley The Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California. Its name derives from its crescent-like shape, with the convex portion facing roughly northeast and the concave portion southwest.  High of La Crescenta's baseball team a spot in the Southern Section rankings.

Falcons junior right-hander Dustin Emmons made a strong case Tuesday that C.V. belongs among the elite.

"It's nice to prove people wrong," Krise said. "We're undefeated, but they don't give us much credit. We can't do anything about it. They rank us lower, probably, because of our league, because they think it's weaker. That just makes us want to go out and play that much harder."

South Hills senior right-hander Joseph Cruz held Crescenta Valley (12-0) to six hits. He struck out seven with one walk in a complete-game performance for the Huskies (11-2-1).

Crescenta Valley took the lead in the first inning when Emmons' two-out triple to right scored Chad Nacapoy. Emmons came home on a wild pitch.

The Falcons did not get another baserunner until Nacapoy doubled in the fourth.
