Agoura created a Marmonte mess at the top, leaving four teams, the Chargers, Moorpark, Newbury Park and Westlake, sharing the league title with 7-5 records. While all can stake a claim to the regular-season championship, only three Marmonte schools are guaranteed postseason berths.

The tiebreaking procedures, which probably won't be ironed out today when the league's athletic directors Athletic director (commonly, "athletics director") is a position at many American colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, which oversees the work of the coaches and related staff involved in intercollegiate or interscholastic athletic  meet, are so complicated that Moorpark coach Scott Fullerton stayed away from the rule sheet.

``You need to be like Russell Crowe in 'A Beautiful Mind' to figure out who gets to go,'' Fullerton said.

Agoura (14-6, 7-5), which won a piece of its first Marmonte title, is confident it has clinched a playoff spot. But Moorpark (16-10-1, 7-5) knows the at-large route is a shaky avenue at best after a fourth-place finish and overall winning record last season weren't enough.

The Chargers risked a similar position had they lost Wednesday.

``We had to win no matter what,'' said J.T. Trelatsky (7-1), who threw 3 2/3 innings relieving starter Brandon Canning. Those two and Nick Trombetta, who got the final out for the save, pitched their way out of trouble all day. Of 10 total Musketeers stranded, eight were in scoring position In the sport of baseball, a baserunner is said to be in scoring position when he is on second or third base. The distinction between being on first base and second or third base is that a runner on first can usually only score if the batter hits an extra base hit, while a runner on .

Trelatsky had pitched six tough innings in Friday's 3-0 win at Westlake and was wiped out by the eighth. Trombetta, making just his second pitching appearance all year, threw seven consecutive strikes taking over a 3-0 count to Zach Penprase.

Representing the tying run, Penprase grounded out to second for the game's final out.
