BART to Expand Long Term Parking Program.

The BART Board of Directors today approved expanding the transit system's Long Term Parking Program to include all East Bay stations where parking is provided, and to lower the cost from $7.00 per day to $5.00 per day.

Currently only three East Bay stations are designated to provide long term parking. Long Term Parking is primarily used by people who are traveling out of the area and taking BART to the San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  or Oakland airports.

The revised program will call for reserving a space in advance at the desired station. Reservations and payments will all be handled on-line.

The new Long Term Parking Permit Program will go into effect on March 1.
