Together with San Francisco and San Jose, the city comprises the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. , Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 2004 The BART Board of Directors today approved expanding the transit system's Long Term Parking Program to include all East Bay stations where parking is provided, and to lower the cost from $7.00 per day to $5.00 per day. Currently only three East Bay stations are designated to provide long term parking. Long Term Parking is primarily used by people who are traveling out of the area and taking BART to the San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden or Oakland airports.
