BART To Operate Longer Trains for the San Francisco Pride 2002 Parade.

This Sunday (June 30), BART will provide longer trains in anticipation of the large number of celebrants planning to attend the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender transgender or transgendered

 Pride Parade and Celebration in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden . Trains will operate on a regular Sunday schedule at 20-minute intervals on three lines -- Richmond/Fremont, Pittsburg/Bay Point-Colma and Dublin/Pleasanton-Daly City. Patrons traveling from the Richmond line Richmond Line refers to the following transit lines:
  • Richmond - Daly City Line (rapid transit)
  • Richmond Line (Staten Island) (bus, formerly streetcar)
 should transfer at the MacArthur Station, and Fremont line patrons should transfer at the Bay Fair Station to a San Francisco bound train. In addition to longer trains, BART will provide eight event trains before and after the celebration to handle the crowds.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Market and Beale Streets and will continue west on Market Street to Market and 8th Street just above the Civic Center BART Station. The celebration will take place at Civic Center from noon until 7 p.m., and will feature live entertainment, dancing, food and crafts.

BART personnel will be selling regular blue tickets from tables at the Civic Center Station There are at least three rail stations with the name Civic Center Station:
  • Civic Center (Metrorail station), in Miami, Florida
  • Civic Center (MARTA station), in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Civic Center Station (San Francisco), in San Francisco, California
