BART Information Managers Select ReviewIt AEC for BART-SFO Extension Project.

Cubus(TM) Corporation today announced that PlayaTec(TM), the official information manager for the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) District's West Bay Extension project, has selected ReviewIt(TM) AEC for the high-profile $1.5 billion project extending the BART rail system to the San Francisco International Airport.

ReviewIt AEC is a Web-based technology providing a virtual collaboration environment to streamline the flow of project information and facilitate communications. ReviewIt technology, optimized for the architecture, engineering, construction (AEC) industry, allows project teams to share information from any location and collaborate on complex and visually rich data such as plans, blueprints and photographs using the Web.

The solution will help to manage a massive volume of project documents, more than 28,000 records and up to 70 gigabytes of critical data, by making them available at the click of a mouse.

The BART West Bay Extension project includes the design and construction of six miles of underground subway and aerial trackway into the San Francisco International terminal. The project will also build three new BART stations in the cities of Millbrae, San Bruno and South San Francisco. BART says that the West Bay Extension project, a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) turnkey demonstration project, will serve as a springboard for further BART extension to the South Bay. The BART-SFO project is scheduled for completion in February 2002.
