BART Hosting Capitol Corridor Customer Focus at Fremont Station.


OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 1999--

Tomorrow, Thursday, July 29, BART will host the fifth and final "Customer Focus" of the month.

This month's Customer Focus events have centered on Capitol Corridor “Amtrak Capitols” redirects here. For the Amtrak line connecting Washington, D.C. and Chicago, see Capitol Limited (Amtrak).

The Capitol Corridor is a 172-mile (275 km) passenger train route operated by Amtrak in California.

Tomorrow's event will be held at the Fremont BART Station, between 4 and 6 p.m.

BART Customer Service Representatives will also be on hand, meeting and greeting customers and explaining BART programs.

Capitol Corridor offers six round-trip trains, seven days a week, between Sacramento and Oakland, with three round-trip dailies to San Jose and one to Auburn/Colfax. Dedicated connecting bus service is provided to outlying areas. The Capitol Corridor has a rich history of train service, beginning as numbered trains operated by Southern Pacific Railway in 1879, then becoming The Senator, The Legislator, The Governor, The Statesman and the El Dorado El Dorado, legendary country of South America
El Dorado (ĕl`dərä`dō, –rā`–) [Span.,=the gilded man], legendary country of the Golden Man sought by adventurers in South America.
. In the Roaring 20s, SP operated 11 trains along the Corridor. By June 1962, when SP discontinued service, only The Senator was still in service.

Today, in addition to the Capitol Corridors, Amtrak operates the California Zephyr, from Emeryville to Chicago, and the Coast Starlight, from Los Angeles to Seattle, along the same route.
