Going toward the north. northbound Adjective going towards the north Adj. 1. from Millbrae/SFO to Civic Center, except during the period of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. BART Board President Pete Snyder said he was pleased to see this change underway because it could offer a significant enhancement to accessing the system by bicycles rather than by automobiles. Under the expanded hours a cyclist may take his or her bike onto any car of the train, except the lead car. The lead car will remain restricted from bikes in order to keep aisles and doors clear so that train operators can enter or exit quickly and not delay trains, or in case of emergency. Bicycles are not permitted on crowded cars regardless of the time or route. Bikes are allowed on trains on the Richmond-Fremont line at all times and other lines during non-commute hours-unless the cars are crowded.
