BART Appreciates Federal Budget for BART/SFO Project.

OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 2003

BART Board President Pete Snyder today said that the earmark earmark

Moreover, once the federal commitment to the project is completed, it will pave the way for new projects in the region to be eligible for major federal grants.

"I believe the President's budget for the BART/SFO project sends a very positive message," Snyder said.

The 8.7 mile BART/SFO project is now 98 percent complete. It comprises four stations, South San Francisco South San Francisco, city (1990 pop. 54,312), San Mateo co., W Calif.; inc. 1908. South San Francisco has several industrial parks; its manufactures include medical supplies and equipment, foods, paint, paper products, consumer goods, and clothing. , San Bruno San Bruno (săn br`nō), city (1990 pop. 38,961), San Mateo co., W Calif., a suburb on San Francisco Bay; inc. 1914. There is light manufacturing and petroleum refining. , the Airport Station and the Millbrae Station Millbrae Station (also known as Millbrae Intermodal Terminal) is an at-grade Bay Area Rapid Transit and Caltrain station located in Millbrae, California. This station consists of three main tracks for BART and two for Caltrain.  where BART will have a direct cross platform connection with Caltrain. BART trains will go into the airport from both the north and south of the line as well as operate along the main line between San Bruno and Millbrae.
